NAS Dashboard privacy policy.

In short: the app only talks to the Unraid server you connect it to. We do not collect, receive, store, sell or share any of your data. The app contains no ads, no analytics, no crash reporting and no tracking.

NAS Dashboard for Unraid ("the app") is a companion app for your own Unraid server. It is developed by Sehmee ("we", "us"), an independent app developer based in the Netherlands. This policy explains what information the app handles and what happens to it.

What the app stores on your phone

To work, the app keeps the following on your device only:

This data is excluded from Android cloud backups and device-to-device transfers. You can delete it at any time with Settings → Forget server in the app, or by uninstalling the app.

What the app sends, and to whom

The app connects only to the Unraid server address you enter. It sends your API key to that server and reads status information from it, such as array and disk status, CPU and memory usage, network speed, Docker containers, virtual machines and your server's own notifications. If your API key allows it and you confirm an action, the app can also send commands to your server, such as starting or stopping a container or virtual machine, or starting the array (including a disk encryption passphrase you type for that purpose, which is sent to your server once and not stored).

None of this information is sent to us or to any third party. We do not operate any servers for this app.

If you connect using a plain "http://" address (common on a home network), traffic between the app and your server is not encrypted; the app shows a warning in that case. With an "https://" address, traffic is encrypted.

When you tap a link in the app (for example to open your server's update page or a container's web interface), it opens in your web browser, which is governed by the browser's own privacy policy.

Background checks and notifications

If you turn on notifications or place a home screen widget, the app checks your server in the background about every 15 minutes, using Android's WorkManager. These checks also go only to your own server. Notifications are created on your phone; no push service or third-party messaging is used.

App lock and biometrics

The optional app lock uses Android's built-in screen lock (fingerprint, face, PIN, pattern or password) through the system's biometric prompt. The app never sees, receives or stores your biometric data or your screen lock credentials; it only receives a success or failure result from Android.

Permissions

Demo mode

The app contains a demo mode with made-up data for reviewers. It uses no network connection at all.

Children

The app is a tool for managing a home or office server and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "Last updated" date.
